Dr Emma Murphy

Post-Doctoral Research Associate (A·WOL in vivo Screening)

The focus of my research involves the development and running of assays suitable for the screening of chemotherapeutic agents against Wolbachia, the bacterial endosymbionts of filarial nematodes. The screening is based on assays using in vitro cell/tissue/parasite cultures and in vivo models of Brugia malayi and Onchocerca sp. with parasitological, bio-imaging, and qPCR endpoint analysis.
