Dr Marty Chaplin

Associate Statistician & Research Assistant

Marty completed a BSc in Mathematics (2011) and MSc in Statistical Epidemiology (2012), both at the University of Leeds. Since joining LSTM in 2013, she has provided statistical support two days a week for the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group (CIDG), which forms part of the Research, Evidence and Development Initiative (READ-It). 

Marty specialises in statistical methods for evidence synthesis, including meta-analysis and indirect comparisons. Marty provides statistical support to READ-It members and acts as statistical editor for CIDG. Her responsibilities include co-authoring systematic reviews with meta-analysis, undertaking research into review methodology and completing peer reviews.

Marty has recently completed a part-time PhD specialising in meta-analysis of pharmacogenetics data, with a specific focus on toxicity related to anti-TB drugs.

Marty is involved in teaching on TROP973 Systematic Reviews for Policy and Practice and DTMH.
