Having completed a BSc in Computer Studies at Liverpool John Moores University, I began working on relational databases from 2006. After a couple of years, I returned to higher education and received an MA in Philosophy from the University of Liverpool in 2009. I then received a PGCE in Applied ICT and went on to teach the subject in secondary schools and colleges from 2010. I then combined my interests in Computing and Philosophy, undertaking a PhD under Manchester Metropolitan University’s Interdisciplinary Department from 2011, investigating accounts of meaning within AI.
Staying in HE, I moved into Edge Hill University’s Strategic Planning and Policy Unit in 2014, managing and analysing University student data for both internal and external reporting.
