Rebecca’s current research at LSTM is in pesticide discovery. The project involves isolation of select venom toxins and subsequent determination of toxin potency in vectors of important human and agricultural diseases. Work will decipher whether snake venom proteins/peptides can identify new targets and aid the design of novel pesticides, combating growing levels of resistance.
