The Centre of Excellence in Infectious Disease Research (CEIDR) which is a partnership between the UoL and the LSTM is recruiting a Business Development Manager to support its growth.
Infectious diseases cause a high burden of mortality all over the world, placing a substantial strain on limited health budgets, health systems and economics. To tackle this global challenge, we have developed the Centre of Excellence in Infectious Disease Research (CEIDR) which is a partnership between the University of Liverpool and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine focused on translational partnering in infectious diseases to address current and future health priorities. Founded in 1898 and the oldest of its kind in the world, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for teaching and research in tropical diseases and similarly the University of Liverpool has over a century of discovery and translational research in infectious diseases. Established in 2017, CEIDR is working to become the single portal for external organisations to make connections, source expertise and resources in infectious diseases from its partners. In order to support its growth, we have a requirement for a Business Development Manager based out of our brand new facilities in Liverpool.
The Business Development Manager post has been recently created and is key to the CEIDR team, with specific delegated business development responsibilities within the remit of CEIDR for the rapid translation of infectious diseases research. Primary duties will include taking initiative to develop and embed new business development strategies, engaging with third parties to identify opportunities for translational partnerships, developing those discussions through to deal completion and working with the CEIDR Director to implement the broader strategy for commercial business development.
