Ayesha E.R. Bell-Gam Woto

PhD Candidate

Ayesha holds a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science, MSc in Tropical Medicine, and LIBMS.

Ayesha is the coordinator of the Biomedical Science program at the University of Liberia.

She  was the the Deputy Director of the National Reference Laboratory in Liberia and later became the country coordinator of the Regional Reference Laboratories under the National Public Health Institute of Liberia.

She has worked alongside the Liberian Ministry of Health,WHO and CDC on various research and clinical projects. Most recently she has worked with PMI (President Malaria Initiaive) for Liberia’s  National Malaria Indicator survey and was a research site supervisor for a recent Malaria Therapeutic Efficacy  study. 

Ayeshas PhD research is on Female Genital Schistosomiasis, H.I.V susceptibility and Menstrual Health Hygiene and her supervisor is Professor Stothard.

Ayesha is a member of the Institute of Biomedical Science UK and The American Society of Microbiology.
