Technical Assistance to Health Priorities Programme, Southern Sudan

Southern Sudan, 2008 - 2011

LATH is providing technical support to this 3 year programme of work in support of the Ministry of Health's (MOH) sector development plan.  The programme will provide a framework for strengthening the sector's managerial capacities, developing essential health care delivery systems, and increasing the population’s access to basic health services. 

The principal objective of this contract will be to assist the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS) MOH and the State MOH (SMOH) in the analysis and formulation of a range of priority policies, the implementation of key health service delivery modalities, and the establishment of a solid, empirical basis for sector development.  LATH will be supporting the following technical areas: (i) policy-making, planning;  legislation and regulation; (ii) human resource development; and (iii) health sector financing and iv) Service Delivery strengthening. 

(Above) August 2010 training workshop at the MOH Southern Sudan in support of the implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation of the MOH GOSS in the establishment of the District Health Information System as part of the HMIS of Southern Sudan.
