As well as becoming donors, some supporters choose to organise fundraising activities
LSTM welcomes support of this kind and can provide advice on making your event or activity a success.
Here are some ideas of activities that you can organize.
•Take part in or organise a sporting event, receiving sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues.
•Take on a grand challenge, such as taking on a grand canyon or great wall of China trek. Cycle from Vietnam to Cambodia or take on rafting along the Zambezi river. For more inspiration visit Global Adventure Challenges(link is external).
•Hold a stall at a car-boot sale, clearing out any un-wanted items in the process.
•Stage a quiz or a raffle in your work place, social club, church, or amongst a group of friends.
•Hold a coffee morning. Get together with homemade cakes and a pot of tea or coffee. People can make a donation, or you can use the opportunity to plan a larger event.
•Give up an indulgence: pledge to give up smoking, drinking or chocolate and ask for sponsorship.
•A summer fete: stage a fete or fair in your local community, asking local businesses to supply some goods and services, providing stalls and activities for children.
•Host a dinner party: invite friends around for a home cooked meal and ask them to donate what they think they would be willing pay for that meal in a restaurant.
•You can then ask your sponsors to support you and LSTM through our JustGiving page
