LSTM Seminar Series: 'What have the genomes ever done for us? How population genomics is revolutionizing our understanding of resistance.'

Event 26 Jan 2017

Martin Donnelly, Professor of Evolutionary Genetics, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine

The human, Plasmodium and Anopheles genomes were sequenced approximately 15 years ago but their impact on public health policy and practice has been limited. However, using the Anopheles gambiae 1000 genomes project as example Professor Donnelly will illustrate how population genomics is poised to transform our understanding of malaria epidemiology.
