Turnitin is a sector leading electronic assessment management and plagiarism detection service. At LSTM all written student assignments are submitted anonymously using this tool.
Turnitin then checks students' submitted work for text matches against outside sources such as the current and archived internet, journal articles and previously submitted student papers. This process helps maintain the academic integrity and students learn the importance of original writing and attribution and foster critical thinking skills that are important to student success. Marks and feedback by academic staff are provided via the Turnitin Grade Mark facility and are accessible online.
