IMPALA at The Union Conference

IMPALA at The Union Conference

The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, also know as The Union is a collaborator on the IMPALA Programme. IMPALA has always held strong links with the organisation, and each year many of our researchers engage with the annual conference.

The IMPALA team took a 'conscious conferencing' approach to the 49th Union World Conference on Lung Health, hosted in The Netherlands, October 24th-27th 2018. The IMPALA team met for a half-day briefing before the conference to discuss which sessions they would attend, to ensure good participation across the consortium. Individuals completed pre-conference reflections which outlined what they wanted to get out of the conference, what networks they hoped to build, and what knowledge gaps they wanted to address.

After each session, individuals then completed their post-conference reflections, stating what their key takeaways were, and how they might apply these learnings to their own work.

During the conference, we asked the IMPALA team to share these post-conference reflections with us by writing down their key takeaways on a white board and recording a short video to explain them.

The resulting video is a summary of these reflections captured during the conference.
