Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) situated in Kisumu city, has been in existence for more than 100 years. It serves County, Sub-County and Private Hospitals in more than 10 counties in the Western Kenya Region with a population of more than 5 million.
Neonates, 900 per year, are admitted to the Newborn Unit – cots 7, beds 21.
Staff: 2 paediatric consultants, 2 medical officers, 1-2 medical officer interns/clinical officers. There are 1-2 neonatal nurses per shift.
Equipment: incubators 14, phototherapy units 5, Oxygen cylinder 2, oxygen concentrators 3, CPAP machine 1, suction machine 1, oxygen saturation monitor 1, heaters 2
