Karen Brady joined Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) in 2016 as their first Director of Fundraising, with responsibility for developing and implementing a new fundraising strategy for high net worth individuals, corporates, philanthropic trusts and foundations. Prior to joining LSTM, Karen spent nine years at the University of Liverpool, initially as Head of Alumni Relations and later becoming Director of Philanthropy & Alumni Relations. In addition to her role as Director of Philanthropy, Karen is also the Operations Lead for HiVE and has been involved with the project since its inception.
Prior to working at the University, she worked in the corporate sector, specialising in event management. She is an alumna of the University of Durham, graduating in 2002 with a degree in Human Sciences and was one of the first cohort to achieve the Advanced Diploma in Fundraising through the Institute of Fundraising in 2015.
