Graduation is an opportunity to celebrate your academic achievements with family, friends and the LSTM community.
Graduation will take place on Monday, 8 December 2025 in the historic St George’s Hall, Liverpool.
Tickets and gowns will be available to book from September. Graduands will be notified by email when tickets become available.
Please note that due to the venue’s capacity, guest tickets are initially limited to two per graduand.

How do I book my tickets?
- Visit: https://www2.williamnortham.com/graduation/index/
- Select Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine as your institution
- Next select your ceremony and click 'continue'
- Finally select your programme of study from the drop down menu and click 'submit'.
- You will be asked to check the details before proceeding. If all the information looks correct, click 'yes' to confirm.
- You will then be taken to the graduation 'hub' where you can book everything else you need for your graduation ceremony.

When do I need to book my tickets by?
It is important that you confirm your attendance and book your gown before Friday 14 November. If you do not book your place by this date, you and your guests will not be able to attend the ceremony.

Do I have to attend the ceremony in order to graduate?
We welcome as many of our students to celebrate at the graduation ceremony as possible. However, attendance at graduations is optional.
If you cannot attend graduation, your degree will still be valid, and degree certificates and final transcripts are dispatched within two months of your award being conferred.
How many guest tickets am I able to book?
Graduands can book two free guest tickets for the ceremony. You are able torequest additional tickets via the booking system. We will not be able to let you know if your request for extra tickets is possible until 17 November.

Will the ceremony be live-streamed and recorded?
The ceremony will be live-streamed and recorded. A link to the live stream will be sent to all graduating students approximately one week before your Graduation day.
Can I or my guests bring children to the Graduation ceremony?
Yes, children are able to attend the graduation ceremony. Please note, the ceremony is a formal event which will last around 60-90 minutes and we would ask that young children or babies are able to sit quietly for that period of time so as not to disrupt the proceedings for others.
All guests, including young children (over the age of two), will require their own guest ticket and you will need to make sure that you book these before the deadline.
On the Day
What time do I need to arrive?
Timing is currently still being confirmed but the ceremony will be held in the morning.
Late guests or graduands will not be allowed to enter the hall once the ceremony has started so it is important you allow enough time for your journey, gowning and photography.
Will I be able to book formal photography on the day?
You can book photography directly through the booking page. There is very high demand for official graduation photography and there will be no opportunity to sign up on the day, so it is important that you book online.
You are still able to take your own photographs before, during and after the ceremony.
Will I receive a certificate for my LSTM qualification at the graduation day?
Depending on when your course ended you may have already received your certificate by post. For the majority of graduands, certificates will be available for collection at the venue following the ceremony.
Returning your gown
You are welcome to have photographs taken around St Georges Hall after the ceremony, and in the City if you wish, but please note that if you have hired your gown, you must return it by 4pm.
Travelling to the UK
I am an overseas graduate; will I need to get a visa to attend my Graduation?
If you have very recently completed your studies, your existing visa may still be valid for you to attend your graduation ceremony. Please check the expiry date on your visa before travelling to Liverpool.
However, if your visa expires before Monday 8 December 2025, you will need to apply for a UK visitor visa as a tourist to enable you to attend the ceremony. Your invitation email to the ceremony should be used as evidence, if required by UKVI.

Will my guests require a visa to attend the ceremony?
If you are inviting guests from overseas to attend your Graduation ceremony, they may require a visitor visa to come to the UK.
Your guests may need evidence that you have all been invited to the Graduation ceremony. You should provide them with a copy or screenshot of your invitation to the ceremony. The invite should be sufficient to obtain a visa, but you can also obtain a status letter or provisional transcript by contacting graduation@lstmed.ac.uk
Where can I and my guests and I stay?
There are lots of options for accommodation in the city of Liverpool, many within walking distance of St George's Hall.
You may wish to consider booking in advance and/or booking accommodation options with free cancellation as it is a busy time of year with many visitors coming to Liverpool.

How to book your graduation ceremony
You will be able to book your tickets, gown, photography and purchase any additional items at https://www2.williamnortham.com/graduation/hub
Part 1. Select your graduation
In the 'Institution' field input Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and click 'continue'.
Next select your ceremony and click 'continue'. There is only one ceremony for LSTM: St Georges Hall - Liverpool, 08 December
Finally select your programme of study from the drop down menu and click 'submit'.
You will be asked to check the details before proceeding. If all the information looks correct, click 'yes' to confirm.
You will then be taken to the graduation 'hub' where you can book everything else you need for your graduation ceremony.
Part 2. Book your tickets
Scroll down to the 'Ticketing' section and click 'order'.
First book your ticket to attend. Please enter your name phonetically (as it sounds when you say it for example if your name is Fatoumata you may wish to write your name as F-AH-t-oo-M-AH-t-ah). This may be different from the correct spelling of your name, which will you will add later on. Click 'continue'.
Then select the number of guest tickets you would like and click 'proceed to gown hire'.
Please note that due to the venue's capacity, guest tickets are initially limited to two per graduand. There is space in the booking form for you to request additional tickets if they are available. We will not be able to let you know if your request for extra tickets is possible until 17 November.
Part 3. Gown hire
Select your height and chest size from the drop down menu and click 'proceed with gown hire'.
You will then be shown the hood colours, this will be selected automatically for you in line with your course. Click 'proceed with hood hire'.
Select your hat size from the drop down menu and click 'proceed with hat hire'. For help with taking measurements click 'size details'.
If you have any special requests or need additional sizing help you can add it in the text box.
At the bottom of the page it will tell you the total cost for hire of your gown and hat.
When you are happy with your selections click 'add to bag'. This will take you back to the graduation hub.
Optional: Part 4. Photography
If you would like to book a photography package, click on 'photography'. This is an optional step and is not a requirement to graduate.
To purchase a package, find the option you would like and click 'more details'. Select any customisation options would you like to add, and the number you require and click 'add to cart'.
You can add multiple packages if you like.
Part 6: Finalise your booking
Once you have completed all the steps above and added any optional extra, you can finish your booking by checking out.
To do this click on the basket icon in the top right hand corner, or from the overview page scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'proceed to checkout'.
Before finalising your booking you will be given the option to register on a waiting list for any additional tickets. If you would like to book additional guest tickets should they become available please add your email address, if you do not wish to be contacted for additional tickets please leave this blank. Click 'submit' to proceed.
Review the basket to check everything is correct and remove or amend any items if needed.
Once you are happy everything is correct, click 'proceed to checkout'.

Enter your payment details and then click 'place order'.
Your booking is now complete.
