A. Purpose
The LSTM Alumni WhatsApp groups serve as platforms for professional networking, collaboration, and community engagement. This Code of Conduct sets clear expectations for participation, ensuring that all members contribute to a respectful and inclusive environment.
Each group must clearly state their purpose and give an accurate description, for example:
“Connect with fellow LSTM alumni in Nigeria This group is for networking, sharing professional updates, and staying connected with our alma mater.”
B. Administration
Chapter WhatsApp groups will contain the following admins for monitoring and management purposes: The Alumni and Supporter Engagement Manager from the LSTM External Relations team and the Chapter Chair/Co-Chairs. These administrators oversee group interactions, enforce the Code of Conduct, and address any concerns raised by members.
C. Commitment
By joining an LSTM Alumni WhatsApp group, members agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the group.
2. Expected behaviour
A. Respectful communication
- Members must communicate in a professional and respectful manner.
- Harassment, hate speech, personal attacks, or discriminatory remarks are strictly prohibited.
B. Confidentiality
- Members must respect the privacy of others and not share personal information without explicit consent.
- Content from the group should not be shared externally without permission.
- Screenshots, forwarded messages, or any form of data extraction without approval are not permitted.
C. Relevant content
- Discussions should remain relevant to the group's purpose.
- Spam, self-promotion, or excessive off-topic messages are discouraged.
- Promotional content must be approved by the group administrators.
3. Enforcement and Disciplinary Process
The enforcement process follows a structured approach:

Reporting violations: Members can report any violations of this Code of Conduct by contacting the group administrators directly. Administrators will also activelymonitor the group.

Response time: Administrators commit to acknowledging and addressing reported violations within 72 hours of receiving the report.
