I completed my BSc in Biochemistry and Microbiology at the University of Sheffield.
I've always been interested in the interactions which happen between host and pathogen, but when I did a summer placement in the Vector Biology Department at LSTM it opened up the possibility to do this on a global scale, helping some of the poorest communities in the world. I enjoy getting outdoors, travelling and experiencing new cultures (especially trying any new cuisine). After graduating I worked for both a church and a charity for 3 years and I'm just as passionate to use science to help people and make a difference in communities here in the UK and in other countries across the world.
