LSTM’s longest running collaborative researh project is with former Far East Prisoners of War (ex-FEPOW). From 1967 LSTM became the primary centre for carrying out Tropical Disease Investigations for ex-FEPOW.
A relationship that has led to improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of some tropical diseases. More recently, LSTM researchers, supported by donations from individuals and grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Wellcome Trust.
