James Court

Research Technician

James Court graduated from Liverpool John Moore’s University in 2017 with a B.Sc. in Biology.  During his time at university, James completed an internship on biological pest control methods where he performed bioassays to determine the virulence of different strains of entomopathogenic fungi on crop pests.

James currently works as a Research Technician in the Liverpool Insect Testing Establishment at LSTM.  In his role, he is responsible for rearing resistant and susceptible mosquitoes and performing bioassays to determine resistance to new and repurposed insecticides.  In addition, James is responsible for ensuring all resistant colonies within LITE are challenged with insecticide on a regular basis, and to ensure the resistance profile of each colony for a number of insecticides is determined.
