LSTM’s Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health (CMNH) will be taking part in B!RTH, an international theatre festival developed by the Royal Exchange Theatre and The Oglesby Charitable Trust as part of the Manchester Science Festival to provoke debate and question one of the key issues of our time: the vast inequality in healthcare across the world.
The Royal Exchange has commissioned seven leading female playwrights from across the globe to explore this issue through their country’s approach to childbirth, with panel discussions to expand on the themes raised in each of the seven plays.
Head of CMNH Professor Nynke van den Broek has been invited as a panel member to discuss the solutions that the CMNH are implementing in low and middle income countries to decrease maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity.
Please visit the B!RTH website for more information, including how to book tickets.
