Representatives of the nine founding partners of LHP attended a showcase event in Liverpool’s Town Hall on Thursday. Chief executives; chairs; research and development directors; clinicians and others of the 7 regional NHS trusts; the University of Liverpool and LSTM were joined by industry representatives and invited external guests.

After the opening and welcome address of Sir Ian Gilmore, the Chairman of LHP, they listened to a number of presentations highlighting the importance of this collaborative approach and its importance for the region. It was followed by a panel session discussing how LHP is enhancing quality patient care and improving health outcomes by improving services through the implementation of collaborative research and education programmes.

LHP is organised around clinical academic programmes that demonstrate international excellence in research, healthcare delivery and clinical education. It is supported by clinical services that can be developed in a coordinated way across the Partnership. Beyond the founding partners, LHP is developing a wider network of members from across the NHS, academia and industry that will broaden the basis for strategic development and enhance opportunities for collaboration

LSTM is represented by Professor David Lalloo.
