Enyia achieved a MSc from Lancaster University, with her thesis focusing on the routes of transmission of Leishmania parasites in their sand-fly vector, Lutzomyia longiplapis, and its vectorial capacity. This inspired her to further investigate how the microbiome affects pathogen transmission, and she will be supporting the lab in projects based on this concept.
