I completed a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences in 2017 at the University of Liverpool. For my dissertation I researched the use of malarial retinopathy as a diagnostic feature for cerebral malaria in developing countries. Following university, I worked in laboratories within the NHS. I worked as a medical laboratory assistant for Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust in 2017. I then worked as an associate practitioner in virology at the Royal Liverpool University hospital from 2018 until January 2021.
I joined LSTM in January 2021 working as a technician within LITE. I am responsible for rearing mosquitoes and performing a range of bioassays, including those recommended by WHO and the CDC to determine resistance to new and repurposed insecticides. I am also responsible for equipment within the department.
