Maaike Seekles

Post-Doctoral Research Assistant

A brief run through of your education and research/work history prior to your current post at LSTM
Maaike is a Research Assistant with a background in Health Services Research (PhD, University of Salford), International Development (MSc, University of Ghent) and Psychology (BSc & MSc, University of Utrecht). During her PhD, she investigated the complex processes of psychosocial service delivery to kidney patients. She has also used mixed-method, action research approaches to evaluate interventions focused on health systems strengthening and capacity-building, particularly within maternal health services in rural Western-Uganda.

She currently works on several projects related to adolescent health in Tanzania, such as projects focused on mental health and on alcohol misuse.
