Research and government funding has supported the achievement of some of the biggest health breakthroughs, but these funders are often too risk-averse to fund some of the truly innovative, rebellious and original ideas which could drive real change for the people who need it most.
Seed funding will support LSTM in creating a place where new ideas can take root, and creating the conditions in which more established concepts can grow and develop. Our Seed Fund helps us to take a new approach to funding, so that those with the best, and perhaps most unconventional ideas, can have the flexibility and freedom to test them. For our researchers, these seed grants are often the key to securing larger, strategic grants which can be scaled up to achieve real impact for the people who need it most.
