To commence British Science Week, researchers from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) will be taking the institute’s science and history to the Victoria Gallery & Museum on the Saturday 11th March between 11am – 3pm.

As part of the National Lottery Heritage-funded project, LSTM – Past, Present, and Future project, the researchers will be showcasing the beautiful scientific illustrations drawn by LSTM’s earliest scientists Dr Alwen Evans and Dr Joseph Everett Dutton connecting their work to the science taking place at LSTM today. Come discover the works of art created by the Far Eastern Prisoners of War during World War II, telling their stories of survival in captivity, and the stories of these men who were treated by LSTM clinicians upon their return to the UK. This pop-up stand will interactively showcase the connections between past and present, science and art.
