As Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine marks its 125th year of global health impact, the remarkable work being carried out by staff from all sections of LSTM was heralded at the LSTM Staff Conference, 2023.

The conference took place at The Spine building, itself a growing emblem of science and innovation, located in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, on 28th and 29th March.

LSTM welcomed staff from across the globe including partner organisations like The Malawi Liverpool Welcome Trust (MLW). Delegates gave talks and contributed to round table debates on topics as diverse as research and development in neglected tropical diseases; the understanding of parasitic spread; equity and capacity building; and new technologies designed to revolutionise on-site digital performance at LSTM.

One of the highlights of the two day conference was the Staff Awards 2023 ceremony, celebrating excellence in all sectors of staff life - from academia and public/ community engagement, to communications and collaboration.

Nominated by fellow staff members, those who won awards showcased the breadth of talent within the LSTM community and the exciting future ahead of LSTM, as it continues to build world-beating collaborations, partnerships, research, equity, and dissemination.
