Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine has been ranked first overall in the latest Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES).
PTES, co-ordinated by AdvanceHE, is the only UK higher education survey to gain insight from postgraduate students about their teaching and learning experience.
It is the first time that LSTM has taken top spot in the prestigious sector rankings, as well as also achieving first place in a further six categories. Alongside overall satisfaction, LSTM was named best for teaching, community, engagement, support, online learning resources and on-campus resources by its 61 respondents. LSTM’s overall student satisfaction rate also climbed to 97%, rising three points from last year.
Professor Isabel Lucas, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Education at LSTM, said: “This is an incredibly significant achievement. At LSTM, we pride ourselves on creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment that allows our students to thrive. To be recognised for excellence by our own students is very special, and we are so proud to help them to confidently pursue rewarding and impactful careers in global health.
“We will continue to strive to improve, investing in our estate and teaching facilities including the refurbished Mary Kingsley Building and widening participation in our programmes through our new partnership with Edge Hill University.”
