The Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health’s Emergency (Essential) Obstetric Training has been shortlisted in the Women’s Health Category of the 2015 BMJ awards.

The BMJ Awards have been running for seven years, and have seen a tremendous amount of talented and dedicated teams recognised for their hard work. Winners and finalists have come from across the spectrum of healthcare, and have included GP surgeries, nurse practitioners, paramedic teams, surgeons, speciality doctors and research teams.

Many of those who have won, or who have been shortlisted for, an award have found they are able to take their projects further, gain wider interest and improve the health and lives of more patients.

A small team from CMNH have been invited to London on the 24th March to present to a panel of judges about the Emergency (Essential) Obstetric Training.  Dr Mary McCauley, who will be leading the presentation states ‘On behalf of all the team at CMNH, we are thrilled to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award and are looking forward to presenting the EOC project to an esteemed panel of judges from BMJ. Considering the worthy work CMNH consistently deliver, we have every confidence that we can win this award!’.

The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday 6th May at the Park Plaza Westminster.
