Developing the next generation of leaders in global health
There are brilliant minds working across the world to develop new solutions to health inequality. However, this pool of experts is currently too small, is under-represented by specialists from low- and middle-income countries.
We believe that training the future global health workforce means that our teaching and delivery should be sympathetic to the settings in which they will operate.
We also believe in doing all we can to remove barriers to our students in accessing our world-leading teaching. Our new programmes, launching in 2018, will therefore be taught through blended (online and face-to-face) delivery.
Our Merit Scholarships programme provides life-changing opportunities for students who would never be able to afford to study at LSTM but for whom the chance is truly life-changing.

Bringing together the world's most disruptive and original thinkers
LSTM will bring the best minds together to create the solutions to the greatest health challenges.
Innovation changes the world. From technology, to training, to treatments, LSTM has been at the forefront of innovation in global health for almost 125 years. Our pioneering work relies on our ability to attract the most brilliant minds, and provide an environment in which their ideas thrive.
Innovation Fellowships will enable us to find of the best minds in global health, and to support them in developing and testing their most original ideas. Liverpool will be the central hub, but we will seek and support the talent and ideas wherever we find them.
Growing our flexible Industry Partnerships (with individuals and organisations) will deepen the interaction between academia and industry. Together, our combined expertise will enable us to look differently, and in a complete and macro sense, at the multi-layered and complex issues which make global health so challenging.
Catalysing ideas to real solutions
Research and government funding has supported the achievement of some of the biggest health breakthroughs. These funders are often too risk-averse to fund some of the truly innovative, rebellious and original ideas which could drive real change for the people who need it most.
Our Seed Fund helps us to take a new approach to funding, so that those with the best, and perhaps most unconventional ideas can have the flexibility and freedom to test them. For early career researchers, these seed grants are often the key to supporting......
