Dr Tim Evans, Director Health, Nutrition and Population of the World Bank, will deliver the LSTM Leverhulme Lecture 2014.

Dr Evans’ lecture will form an integral part of the wider CAHRD Consultation event that will take place on 12 and 13 June in Liverpool. The Collaboration for Applied Health, Research and Delivery event will scope the key questions that will face four Global Health themes after 2020 by bringing together more than 150 academics; health professionals; representatives of international (health-)organisations; policy makers and opinion leaders. The themes cover areas in maternal and newborn health; respiratory diseases; neglected tropical diseases and health systems.

‘We are extremely pleased that Dr Evans is able to deliver this year’s Leverhulme Lecture’, says Professor Janet Hemingway, Director of LSTM. ‘Dr Evans is a widely respected global health expert with over 20 years of experience in his field and it will be extremely interesting to hear his strategic insights and experience in promoting equity in access to affordable quality health care.’

The Leverhulme Lecture and CAHRD consultation are both listed under the ‘Higher Education and Research’ themed week of the International Festival for Business which will be held in Liverpool in June and July 2014.

The lecture will be delivered on Thursday afternoon at Liverpool’s Town Hall on the 12th of June. More details on how to register to attend the event will be announced closer to the date.
