Background
Sherin obtained a BSc in Molecular Medicine from the University of Ulm (Ulm, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany) in 2013. She undertook her BSc project in the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (Dresden, Germany) focusing on neuroplasticity in disease. From 2013-2015 she undertook her MSc in Molecular Medicine at the Georg-August-University of Goettingen (Goettingen, Lower Saxony, Germany). During her studies she participated in multidisciplinary research projects at the Max-Planck-Institute for Experimental Medicine and the Department of Clinical Microbiology (Goettingen, Lower Saxony, Germany). She undertook her MSc project in the Clinical Pharmacology Department at the University Medical Center of Goettingen with a focus on pharmacogenetic effects on drug transport and metabolism.
Research
After completing her MSc, Sherin joined the Respiratory Infection Group as a Research Assistant in May 2015. Her role is the detection of S. pneumoniae carriage and the preparation of inoculums used in the Experimental Human Pneumococcal Carriage model.
