The unique programme blends Clinical Paediatrics with Tropical & Infectious Diseases. This MSc is a strong springboard into clinical academic routes, with previous students being successful in various PhD Fellowships. You will learn from an international cohort of students bringing early career clinicians and Paediatricians together from different settings.
There has never been a more important time than now to really understand outbreaks, emerging viruses, and epidemiology in light of recent outbreaks of Zika, MERS, SARS, Ebola and now COVID-19. You will learn how to differentiate between literature, and how to review and interpret these into the development of guidelines for clinical practice. These skills are applicable worldwide in any setting, both limited resource settings and in developed nations.
You will learn from an international cohort of students bringing early career clinicians together from different settings. You will be taught by experts in the field, including those on WHO Committees, those involved in HIV/Malaria care and Vector Control Management.
You will be networking with many international LSTM staff, and we are keen to bring your areas of interest into your research projects. We will work with you on your ideas for research and network with an appropriate expert Supervisor. Many previous students have had their research projects published in peer reviewed journals, enhancing their standing in the academic research environment.
