We offer a number of scholarships for our students from the UK and overseas.
Scholarship Awards
Our scholarship awards are designed to support applicants who are unable to obtain the full tuition fee from other sources and they are made on the basis of academic merit and meeting eligible criteria.
Applicants can expect to hear the outcome of their application within four weeks of the closing date deadline.
125th Anniversary Excellence Scholarships
These scholarships are awarded during our 125th anniversary year and will support applications to Master’sprogrammes delivered at our Liverpool campus for students from the most disadvantaged countries. Read more about our 125th Anniversary Scholarships.
Tuition Fee Discounts
If you do not meet the criteria for one of our scholarships you may qualify for a discount on your tuition fees. Read more about tuition fee discounts.
External Sources of Funding
There are various external funding bodies which can help you to cover tuition fees and living costs as an international student. Read more about external sources of funding.
Postgraduate Masters Loans
If you are a home fee-paying student, you could qualify for a postgraduate Master’s loan to help fund your studies, including fees and the cost of living. Read more about postgraduate Master's loans.

Harriette Kelso Scholarship
1 x £10,000 for attendance on the February 2024 cohort of the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTMH). |
A doctor who is both domiciled, and a national, of Sierra Leone.
The scholarship will cover £6,000 fees with the remaining £4,000 used towards flights, accommodation and stipend. |

125th Anniversary Excellence Scholarships 125th Anniversary Excellence Scholarships
These scholarships will reduce the standard international student fee to £12,500 for those who are eligible.

A limited number of scholarships available for partial tuition fee funding. |
This donor funded scholarship is for Nigerian students who intend to return to Nigeria and is for MSc and Professional Diploma applications only. In rare cases, Nigerian students on short courses may be offered this scholarship, if funding allows. |

Levels of funding
Scholarships are only available for self-funding or partially self-funding students.
Priority will be given to applicants who already have some funding in place,or have a clear expectation that this can be obtained, or can show evidence that they are actively searching for additional funds.
LSTM reserves the right to withdraw the offer of a scholarship if an applicant has not fully met the conditions of their offer within a set timeframe. These conditions may include, but are not limited to;
- obtaining the necessary visa by the stated date (for campus based-programmes)
- showing proof of additional funding, where necessary
- obtaining English language requirements, etc.
Where deadlines are set for meeting conditions, LSTM reserves the right to offer the scholarship to another applicant if these are not met.
